MAV Sense Micro Vario

The MAV Sense Micro Vario is a sensitive altimeter/variometer that uses the latest MEMS technology to achieve high accuracy while maintaining miniature dimensions. The sensor can detect minute changes in air pressure to display rate of climb/descent, play as a sound, or announce.

Indispensable when training with DLGs
Even without telemetry, the Micro Vario remembers the max height!

Features

  • Small dimensions. The sensor is plugged directly into the receiver's telemetry connection.
  • Accurate measurement of absolute/relative altitude and climb/sink rate.
  • Automatic telemetry detection: Duplex EX, Hott, MSB, S.Bus2.
  • Configurable alarms for altitude and rate of climb.
  • Configuration via the transmitter
  • firmware updates.

The Micro Vario is plugged directly into the telemetry port of the receiver. Alternatively, a servo extension cable could be plugged in between the receiver and the Micro Vario

Telemetry and Settings

The device is compatible with the JETIBOX and this can be used for programming.
The JETIBOX menu is divided into three sections:

  1. Actual values - Displays the current telemetry values (altitude, variation, pressure, temperature) along with minimum and maximum values.
  2. Reset Min/Max - Simultaneously press left + right buttons to reset all minimum and maximum.
  3. Settings
  • Language - You can select the language of the JETIBOX screen.
  • Vario Sensitivity - sets the amount of filtering for the pressure sensor data. Increasing the sensitivity gives you a faster response to changes in altitude. Please note that the specified noise can also occur. (Default: Medium)
  • Sink Rate  - Rate of descent of the aircraft when no thermal effects are present. The sink rate value is added to the climb rate. This results in Thermal flows being localized more accurately.
Example: If the model flies with a nominal sink rate of 0.5 m/s, the Vario is silent. Once the model enters a thermal, a beep will sound (although the aircraft may still descend).
  • Sea level Pressure – Sea level pressure is used as a reference to calculate absolute altitude. For the most accurate calculation of altitude, set the pressure at your location to sea level. The International Standard Atmosphere Model defines sea level pressure as 1013hPa.
  • Round Altitude – Turn on or off the rounding of altitude values displayed on the transmitter. Relative and absolute height rounds to full meters, decimal part omitted.
  • Altitude Alarm - You can set an altitude alarm. *
  • Vario Alarm – You can set an alarm value for excessive climb or descent.*
  • Alarm Interval - sets the time between alarm announcements.
  • Service - This menu allows you to view the device version and reset it to the factory default configuration.
